How Recipe Finder Works
A transparent guide to our recipe search, filters, nutrition estimates, and saved lists.
1) Ingredient-based search
Type ingredients like “chicken, tomato, garlic” and we’ll look for recipes that match what you have.
- Use commas to list ingredients.
- Search is designed for quick discovery, not exact inventory matching.
- You can also browse by category and cuisine.
2) Filters and dietary tags
Filters help you narrow down recipes by category (e.g., Chicken, Pasta) and cuisine (e.g., Italian, Thai).
Dietary tags such as vegetarian / vegan are best-effort and may not cover every ingredient detail.
Nutrition estimates (important)
Some data sources don’t provide complete nutrition facts. When that happens, we show a simple estimate based on the recipe’s ingredient list and step count.
- Calories and macros are approximate.
- Do not use estimates for medical or clinical decisions.
- Always verify with labels or professional guidance when needed.
